Oleg Vladimirovich Popikov is a leader with more than 40 years of professional experience in defense, public administration, industry, and the management of large organizations.
Born on January 10, 1962, in Bishkek, he holds two higher education qualifications. He graduated from the Gorky Higher Anti-Aircraft Missile Command School with a qualification as an engineer in the operation of radio engineering equipment and from Kyrgyz State University with a degree in law.
He began his professional career in the Armed Forces of the USSR and continued his service in the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. He held command and leadership positions, including Head of a Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic and Commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. He also has experience in public administration and international professional cooperation.
At various times, he held leadership positions in the Bishkek Mayor’s Office, including Deputy Mayor. From 2014, he headed Bishkek Machine-Building Plant OJSC as Chairman of the Management Board.
Today, Oleg Vladimirovich Popikov leads Southern Bastion LLC, overseeing the company’s strategic development, engagement with government agencies and partners, and the delivery of complex projects involving special-purpose products.
